Joseph E. Stiglitz is a University Professor at Columbia University and chief economist at the Roosevelt Institute. He received the Nobel prize in economics in 2001. Stiglitz chaired President Bill Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers from 1995 to 1997 and served as the chief economist and senior vice president of the World Bank from 1997 to 2000.
